CORBO GEO TOOL

On the Elise you can adjust Caster, Camber and Toe.
Caster is set once and hardly ever needs adjusting.
Camber can be adjusted with a simple and easy to use tool.
To adjust the Toe you can go to a professional Geo machine in a specialised workshop or if you want to check the toe on track or at home you often see string and ruler being used. This is a not so accurate and time consuming way to set up and to use.
This tool will help you to do the job on track or at home a lot quicker and more accurate.

COMPONENTS

Side bar :
this consists of 2 aluminium extruded profile bars mounted together with a length of aluminium profile. This makes it possible to adjust the length and also to take apart for easy transport.

Legs :
there are 2 legs that can be mounted to either measure the front and rear width difference.

or to use when doing the toe adjustment.

Sliding calliper block:
This block holds a standard sliding calliper and is placed in the profile bars for accurate measurements.

Distance adjustment blocks:
These blocks adjust the length profile bar parallel to the central /hart line of the car on each side of the car.

OPERATING

First you need to lock the steering wheel in the straight position using whatever you have to secure it.

The principle of this tool is that the side bar is set parallel to the centreline of the car.

To do so you measure front and rear width difference at the centre of front and rear wheels (at the wheel cap or the wheel centre ring).

In this last photo this is 11,05 mm. To get the adjustment bar parallel to the centreline you need to adjust the distance blocks 11,05 : 2 = 5,5 mm difference -> at the front the bar is 5,5 mm further away from the wheel centre than it is at the rear.

With the bar now parallel you can measure at the front and at the rear of both wheels (front and rear on 1 side of the car) and you know what the toe (in or out) is in mm of the wheels on that side of the car.

Accurate in 0.00mm if you want, but note that the wheels are often 0,1 to 0,3 mm untrue ! This is more accurate than the string method. You can take the adjustment tool away to adjust the toe of the wheel if necessary.

Very easy, when ready put the bar back with the 2 distance blocks against the wheel centres; this is where you save the time.

To do the other side take the bar and put against the wheel centres at the other side of the car.

The distance blocks are set to use on both sides of the car.
